Who we’re looking for We truly believe that all dancers are beautiful in their various shapes and sizes; however, we can only consider dancers who fit the following criteria because of the small sized dancewear samples we use for our photo shoots:
How to Apply Complete and mail a Model Search Entry Form including 1-2 color photos (please note these will not be returned). Photos should be full-length, recent photos. Don’t forget to print your name, address, phone number, and dance studio or school on the back of each photo. Please mail photos along with your completed entry form to:

We are happy to answer any additional questions you may have. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: What should I be wearing in the photographs I submit? A: Please wear dance attire, preferably leotard and tights. 2-3 photos and 1 close-up photo are suggested. Please pose in dance poses to show your dance technique. Professional photos are not required. Q: What happens after I apply? A: We will select applicants to come in for a one on one interview. This gives us the opportunity to meet you and it gives you the chance to ask us any questions you, or your parent(s), may have. Pictures will be taken. If applying around the time of studio visits, applicants may be selected to attend the group test shot/interview days. Q: How will I know if I am selected? A: A Dancewear Solutions representative will contact you either way. It could take several months before you are contacted depending on the need for models. If selected, you will be called to arrange an interview and/or test shots. Q: What happens after the initial interview? A: After the interview, you may be called back for an audition test shot or be scheduled for a photo shoot. Q: What happens during the test shot? A: Pictures not for print will be taken of you in our costumes in dance poses to test your technique and how photogenic you are. We ask that you wear your hair up, natural make up, clean nails, and bring your dance shoes. Tights and costumes will be provided. Q: How long do interview/test shots usually last? A: Anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Q: What happens after the test shot? A: If you are hired to model in our catalogs, we will arrange a photo shoot. Photo shoots last 3-8 hours and are scheduled throughout the year. Photo shoots are sporadic and models from our current roster will be chosen for shoot days depending on the sizes needed. Q: Do models get paid? A: Yes, hired models are compensated for their time and receive discounts at our retail store for the duration of the year they model. However, models are not compensated for travel expenses. Q: If selected as a model, does that mean I will appear in the catalog and/or marketing materials? A: There is no guarantee that photographs will be used in any catalog and/or marketing materials. |
